ALL ABOUT HAYLEY KIYOKO
Hayley Kiyoko was “discovered’ at five when, for moral support, she went with her friend to a photo shoot. The director asked her to step in front of the camera and she ended up in a national print ad for KnowledgeWare. Nickelodeon spotted her at the Culver City Ice Rink and she ended up featured in and narrating a short piece about children in sports called, “I’m Hayley, a Skater”. Since that first taste of fame, she has taken charge. Insisting on drum lessons at 6, she was writing drum charts for new releases and selling them in a local music store by age 11. She has appeared in national commercials for GM, On Star, K-Mart, Slim Jim, and became the TV spokesperson for Cinnamon Toast Crunch. In addition, she had a couple of guest star roles on Nickelodeon’s “Unfabulous” (2004). As a dancer, she studied with Scotty Nyugen. She is a prolific songwriter and she plays the drums, keyboards, and guitar. She was president of her Middle School and High School freshman class and in her sophomore year she was appointed Commissioner of Entertainment then Commissioner of Pep Rallies in her Junior year and was elected as school VP in her Senior year. She created and choreographed “The Agoura High Step Team” that has now been faculty approved as a school club under her direction. She was accepted into the prestigious Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at NYU. She is a member of a five girl-singing group “The Stunners”. The Stunners have released their first five-song EP with the video, “Dancing Around the Truth”. Scooby Doo – the Mystery Begins debuted on Cartoon Network in 2009 with Hayley in the iconic role of “Velma Dinkley”. She appeared in the role of “Stevie” on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Hayley with “The Stunners” toured as Justin Beiber’s opening act in the summer of 2010. In her free time, Kiyoko enjoys writing songs and vintage clothes shopping. Kiyoko currently resides in Los Angeles with her family.
Hayley Kiyoko rocksout on the Yellow Carpet in Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a pink Rebecca Taylor dress!
I was so proud to be a part of her first carpet appearance in pink. Hayley’s hairstyle for the premiere of “Lemonade Mouth” was loose, beachy, natural waves framing her face and featuring her strapless dress.
Hayley loves a managable yet wild mane and definately has had outrageous do’s. We decided to show the other side of Hayley’s personality, fresh, flirthy and fun.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK! Here’s a step by step tutorial on how to get Hayley Kiyoko’s hairstyle with any haircut
Styling Difficulty Rating
- duck bill clips
- T3 Evolution Blowdryer with Soft Touch Diffuser
- T3 1′ Round Brush
- Oribe Royal Blowout Spray
- Rene Furturer Dry Shampoo
- Oribe Creme for Style
- T3 1/2″ Twirl Curling iron
- L’oreal Elnet Strong hold
On shorter hair, you must be percise with the direction that you wave the hair. Make sure ends don’t stick out in unflattering ways. Always make sure your waves have a beautiful flow, weather it be messy and beachy, or polished and perfect.
Spray Oribe Royal Blowout Spray on damp hair and diffuse sections with the T3 Evolution dryew with the Soft Touch diffuser. The tourmaline ionic ceramic blowdryer dries the hair fast while leaving it shiny and healthy. Its actually a known fact that blowdrying with the T3 blowdryer is healthier that air drying.
Once the hair is dry, section the hair into 4 standard segments pivoting from the apex. Take 1/2″ sections and wave them according to face shape and feel that you want. For Hayley’s “Lemonade Mouth” Premiere Hairstyle we left the ends out to keep it fresh.
As a general rule of thumb, wave sections close to the front away from the fa.ce and alternate directions as you reach the back.
Roundbrush edges and bangs with a T3 Anti Gravity Roundbrush and the T3 Evolution blowdryer with nozzle. Be sure you establish an amazing part that compliments the face.
Smooth down flyaways and give a healthy shine and beachy texture with Oribe Creme for style. Use it sparingly, and try to stay away from the roots.
I sprayed Hayley’s hair with L’oreal Elnet Strong hold to secure pieces and control flyaways.
You should never have to HAIRSPRAY waves into place, you should wave them into place and lightly mist hair for security.
Go Pink Lemonade!!!!! Too Much Love!
